After years of being a hired gun in the global music industry, and stacking up a hefty catalogue of unreleased original compositions, Jay decided to finally bite the bullet and go solo. Recording his first album at Hilltop Studios, he set out to put together the band and hit the road in his tour bus, Mickey. But due to pandemic restrictions has postponed a live tour in favor of recording another album of new material. Apparently lockdown was good for the creative flow!
Jay writes and composes all of his own material. In the vein of Steely Dan, he uses separate bands for studio recording and live performances. To record the albums he selects session musicians he knows will capture just the right vibe for the songs. Many of whom he has worked with for years. After wrapping the last album, "Plain Brown Wrapper", and subsequent tour cancellation, he decided to pour his focus into composing a ton of new material. What else was he gonna do right? And after the success he's experienced from these last several singles, Jay is very optimistic about the full record release coming this Spring!
It is his dream to someday write an epic space opera. But can you blame a Rush fan, really?
"I highly recommend the team at PR 4 Musicians! They've allowed me access to press I only had with a major label previously. As an independent artist, their services are invaluable."
